It feels breezy and cozy at the same time. If we had to choose a favorite color palette using Evergreen Fog, this may be it. Oh how we love this home! The gray stone and cedar shake siding, the warmth from the copper gutters and wood fence and door. The walnut accents also help we love including wood elements to balance cool-toned designs. Even though Evergreen Fog isn’t a warm green, it’s a cool green, its use does warm up this façade. Grays and blacks are great color pairings for Evergreen Fog, again because of its gray undertones. Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams was applied to the siding of the home and Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams to the brick. Next, we move on to a very different design: A daring black color palette with walnut-stained wood paneling and Evergreen Fog on the entry door. We’re picturing ourselves porch-sitting with some sweet tea and listening to the birds. With the copper light fixtures and calming green, this home feels like a high-end countryside retreat. The door on the right is almost like an extension of the garden bed, bringing out the sage green in the landscaping. On the cottage above, the brown and gray stone along with Seapearl by Benjamin Moore on the siding is a lovely base color palette for mixing in Evergreen Fog - the stone plays on all of this paint color’s undertones. In the designs above and below, our designers used Evergreen Fog on the doors only. Though beautiful with many different styles, we love to use Evergreen Fog on Craftsman and more traditional homes. As a field color, it’s grounding, connecting us with nature. As an accent (think shutters and doors), it’s the perfect subtle pop of color to complement a central color, including white. Recommended Applications for Evergreen FogĮvergreen Fog’s applications make it a solid choice for homeowners wanting something a little nontraditional. There are also very subtle blue undertones, but the gray is more noticeable. For example, it looks quite gray when it’s shaded. (Curious about LRV? Learn more here, including why LRV is so important to keep in mind when choosing the perfect paint color for your home.)Īs we hinted at above, Evergreen Fog is considered a ‘chameleon color.’ Instead of simply appearing too dark or too light depending on available light, the changing light throughout the day actually changes how the hue reads. However, keep reading to learn about its undertones in different lighting conditions. It will look true to color in most environments and great in shade or sun. Sherwin Williams’ Evergreen Fog: The SpecsĮvergreen Fog has an LRV of 30, which is in the mid-range. The dinner scene really captivates in its tense atmosphere, apparent throughout albeit more subtle but especially when the accusations of the characters' pasts and crimes are made and after where it builds until a real sense of dread. Beyond the slightly slow start, the episode very quickly gets incredibly gripping. Aiden Turner's much talked about sex appeal wasn't that much of a distraction either. Some may find the violence and swearing is gratuitous, not me, while the swearing is somewhat anachronistic for Christie it does fit the characters' increasingly fragile states of mind and doesn't feel that out of place within the increasingly dire situation. While some may find fault with some aspects like the much talked about swearing, gruesome killings and the ending they weren't a problem personally. The initial introductory stages may be a touch on the slow side, though credit is due for it conveying more menace in these stages than how most of the other adaptations started. It gets off to a great start with this first episode. Of all the versions, the only one that didn't do anything for me was the 1989 film. This 2015 adaptation of 'And Then There Were None' (when aired it turned out to be a huge improvement over the disappointing previous Agatha Christie adaptation 'Partners in Crime') for me is the third best behind the 1987 Russian (the most faithful) and the 1945 Rene Clair (which had a particularly great cast) versions. The plot is simply ingenious, as well as a contender for Christie's darkest, as is the final solution (left me completely floored on first reading, though it is very difficult to pull off adaptation-wise), there is a suspenseful and ominous atmosphere evoked and the characters are interesting. 'And Then Were None' is one of my favourite, and one of my first, Agatha Christie books, as well as one of my favourites of all time. With the latter, Float wants small businesses to use its platform to tap into their revenues instantly instead of using gateways, which take days to settle. The company has also introduced some more features recently: revenue advances and instant payouts. Other features on the platform include invoice advance, opening a business account, payment links, managing budgets and spend cards. The company aims to serve as the “financial operating system” for Africa’s small and medium businesses. In addition to flexible credit lines for businesses to cover cash flow gaps, Float also has software tools for businesses to manage accounts and wallets in one dashboard, as well as automate bills, vendor or supplier payments and invoice collections. Float provides credit to some of these businesses that find it challenging to get from traditional banks. It’s an identical problem for more than 51% of 44 million formal SMBs in sub-Saharan Africa who say they need more finance than they can access to grow their businesses, per research. That threw me into solving those problems with Float.” “I also remember taking money from loan sharks with ridiculous interest rates, sometimes as high as 20% a month, to meet payroll. But the bank wanted us to deposit 100% collateral in cash before they could give the overdraft,” the two-time YC founder told TechCrunch in a June interview. “We needed credit and proceeded to get an overdraft from a long-term partner bank where we had transacted more than $100,000. The idea for the YC-backed Ghanaian fintech came during the chief executive’s time at OMG Digital, a media company he founded that also got into YC, in 2016. While Cauris provided debt financing, Tiger Global and JAM Fund, the investment firm of Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen co-led the equity bit. The seed round was a mix of $7 million equity and $10 million debt. The fintech which provides credit lines for businesses has raised $17 million, funding that it will be using to bolster its offerings and expand geographically. Many startups are solving these problems for African SMBs in one form or another, and the demand for their services has seen Ghanaian startup Float pick up a significant round of funding. Long payment cycles, which can take 30-90 days after services or products have been rendered, and little or no capital, of which research says 85% of African small and medium businesses are subject to, are the main culprits of cash flow issues. Cash flow is a major pain point for small businesses in Africa. However the M0 money supply (otherwise known as the Total Monetary Base) measured $6.1 trillion worth of hard currency in circulation.įor every $1 in printed dollars, Americans hold an additional $3.5 in assets. At time of writing, it measured approximately $21.8 trillion moving in the U.S. The M2 money supply is considered the standard definition of how much money exists in the United States. It is a liquid asset if you have to sell it first.) A good rule of thumb is that an account is cash equivalent if you can withdraw money directly. (A cash-equivalent deposit means that a defined amount of money is held on account. The M1 and M2 money supplies measure how much money is held in these physical assets, as well as how much money people hold in checking accounts, savings accounts and other cash-equivalent deposits. It’s how many literal, physical coins and dollars the Treasury has minted. The M0 money supply measures the amount of physical currency in the U.S. economy, called M0, M1 and M2 money supply (respectively). The Federal Reserve has three main metrics for the amount of money moving around in the U.S. This distinction is also important because almost all money is functionally digital these days. As far as the IRS (and usually the SEC) is concerned, this is either a form of property or a financial product. This is important to note because, while cryptocurrency is informally defined as a currency, legally it is not. You would pay taxes based on the market value of 0.25 bitcoins in dollars. For example, you would not pay taxes based on 0.25 bitcoins. Instead, you pay taxes based on what it is worth in terms of dollars. This means that you do not value the asset on its own merits. Under IRS rules, digital (or “virtual”) currencies are considered property for taxation purposes. To the extent that pure digital currencies do exist, the U.S. However, this writer is not aware of any organization that has actually launched a project like that, in part because the dollar continues to function as a stable, effective global store of value. Some banks and governments have begun to explore creating digital currencies as a form of intermediary value to use when executing cross-border transactions. This definition is more rarely used because few examples of pure digital currencies exist in the world. You can spend it as a digital currency (for example, if you use your debit card to pay for things) or you can spend it as physical currency (for example, if you make a withdrawal from the ATM). To extend this challenge and for those that are not satisfied with simply finishing the level, you will need to utilise your plethora of abilities to grab all the Electoons hidden throughout each level. Rayman is no cake walk and will put the most seasoned gamer through its paces. At first glance, Origins may appear to be 'casual friendly’, but don't let the art style fool you. Moving towards the later stages, the player is expected to combine the learned abilities in a coherent manner and this is where the real challenge sets in. You begin with a simple gliding ability and gradually gain a handful of skills that will test your platforming prowess. Ubisoft took an intelligent approach to introducing new abilities to the player, as each new world in the first portion of the game focuses on using a specific ability. I mentioned that the game was challenging, but it does not drop you into the deep end and expect you to swim. This latest installment holds true to this habit as the story takes a back seat to the platforming genius that Ubisoft has crafted within Origins. Thankfully, the artistic styling and gameplay are, and always have been the strong points of a Rayman game. Along the way you will do some jumping, exploring, and collecting Electoons (the in-game collectible) as well as defeat any monsters that may get in your way. All you have to know is that some nymphs have been captured by some evil-doers, and it is up to you to save them. Through my playthrough of the 60 levels and the meanderings of incomprehensible dialog scattered throughout the game I can safely say that the story is of little consequence. The name Origins relates to this tale being an origin story for our lead character, Rayman. A platformer in the truest sense, Origins will take you and three friends through a beautiful, challenging world filled with charm that will surely make you a fan of Rayman if you were not one already. With Ubisoft’s Rayman: Origins essentially rebooting the series, it gives Rayman the shot in the non-existent arm the character needed after being overrun by a slew of Rabbids sequels. From his initial release, Rayman (1995) the armless hero has been run through the paces of game development for better and for worse.
